A Poster for Your Building’s Noticeboard

When a landlord sends a Section 20 notice, every leaseholder in the block usually gets the same one, and the observation period is short. Print this poster for a communal noticeboard, or save it as a PDF and send it to neighbours. It only explains how the period normally works and points to our free tools. It doesn’t mention your landlord, your building or any charges.

For leaseholders in this building

Had a Section 20 notice about building works?

A Section 20 consultation notice normally gives leaseholders 30 days, beginning with the date of the notice, to send written observations to the landlord. The end date printed on the notice is the one that counts.

  1. 1. Find the date on your notice and the end date it gives.
  2. 2. Read what works are proposed, and why.
  3. 3. Put any questions to the landlord in writing before the end date.
