Housing stock transferred - see below for who now acts as landlord
Cherwell District Council transferred the large majority of its housing stock (around 10,500 homes across the district) to Sanctuary Housing under a large-scale voluntary transfer concluded in 2004; the council itself retains only a small residual stock of its own, so most ex-council leasehold flats in the district now have Sanctuary Housing, not the council, as landlord
