A 2021 unitary merger of the former Northampton Borough, Daventry District and South Northamptonshire councils. Daventry transferred its stock to a housing association (now Futures Housing Group) in 2007, but Northampton Borough Council's stock was retained; day-to-day management was delegated to Northamptonshire Partnership Homes (an Arm's-Length Management Organisation), with a phased move to bring management back in-house by April 2027, while West Northamptonshire Council itself remains freeholder
